FIND A BOOK
Finding a book at the local library has changed a lot over the years. Instead of the old card catalogue there is now a computer terminal in most libraries where you can access the library catalogue. Through this computerized system one can search for material by title, author, subject or keyword search. The library’s entire collection is at your fingertips. In most cases you can search the Library's catalogue from the comfort of your own home.
Materials have changed a great deal as well. A book is a book, right? Not anymore. Now a book can mean a paperback, ebook, hardcover, graphic novel or audio book, there are MP3 players, ipods, ereaders, CDs, Macs and PCs.
Your Library’s collection just got a whole lot bigger. We are now connected to the Overdrive and ebooks on EBSCOhost systems, which allow patrons to borrow audio books and ebooks directly from their home computers. These books can be loaded onto your computer, ipod, MP3 player or burned onto CD. All you need is a library card and a few instructions from library staff and you are ready to browse through thousands of new titles.
